Last updated: March 2026

AF Automations is committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under UK data protection law.

1. Who We Are

AF Automations is a technology consultancy based in the United Kingdom, providing automation, integration, and software engineering services. For the purposes of UK data protection law, AF Automations is the data controller for personal information processed through this website.

2. What Information We Collect

Contact Form Submissions

When you use the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Company name (optional)
  • Subject and message content

This information is forwarded to us by email and is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

Server Logs

Like most web servers, ours automatically records standard request information including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These logs are used for diagnosing technical issues, monitoring site health, and detecting abuse. Log data is retained for up to 31 days before being automatically deleted.

Spam and Bot Protection (Google reCAPTCHA)

Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to protect against automated abuse. reCAPTCHA operates in the background and analyses your interaction with the page โ€” including mouse movements, timing, and browser fingerprint data โ€” to determine whether a submission is likely from a human or a bot. This data is processed by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

Purpose Data used Lawful basis (UK GDPR)
Responding to your enquiry Contact form data Legitimate interests โ€” to respond to a request you have initiated
Technical monitoring and security Server log data Legitimate interests โ€” to maintain a secure and functioning service

We do not use your personal information for marketing, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Contact form submissions โ€” retained in our email inbox for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry and any follow-up work, and then deleted.
  • Server logs โ€” retained for up to 31 days on a rolling basis, then automatically deleted.

5. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell or trade your personal data. We may share it in the following limited circumstances:

  • Google โ€” reCAPTCHA data is processed by Google as described above.
  • Email service providers โ€” contact form submissions are transmitted by email. Standard email infrastructure is used; messages may pass through third-party mail servers in transit.
  • Legal obligation โ€” we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

We do not transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA except as described above (Google's infrastructure may process data internationally under standard contractual clauses).

6. Cookies

This website does not set its own cookies. Google reCAPTCHA may set cookies as part of its bot-detection mechanism. We do not use analytics cookies or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access โ€” request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification โ€” ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure โ€” ask us to delete your data where there is no legitimate reason for us to continue holding it.
  • Restriction โ€” ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Objection โ€” object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Portability โ€” request your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

8. How to Complain
